The Collaboration

Patricia Nebel is a much sought-after creator of websites and a fashioner of layouts and designs for manuscripts and textual presentation. It was because of that capacity that Jack Veeger sought her out some 15 years ago to transform a first collection of poems titled "Lake Whim" into a pleasing product. The joint effort proved a winner.

Patricia brought another talent to the table. She has a "keen eye" for beauty — both manmade and natural — and manages to capture that beauty on camera. Some of her photographic successes have appeared in National Geographic Adventure magazine.

All in all Patricia Nebel has given final form and format to 19 collections of Jack Veeger's poetry. The big question was just waiting to be asked: “Why don't we call on Pat's ‘keen eye’ and Jack's ‘way with words’ to create a unique tribute to the city we both love.” Et Voila! Sarasota: A Tribute in Verse and Vision.

Jack Veeger

Jack Veeger was born in The Netherlands in 1926. At age 27 he emigrated to the U.S.A. and made a career in international trade. He turned to writing poetry after retirement in 1995. He and his wife Bobby (Isabella) make their home in Sarasota, Florida.

Patricia Nebel

Patricia Nebel began her photography career in 2001. Her photography has received numerous awards through juried exhibits and has been published in National Geographic Adventure magazine and Florida regional magazines. She and her husband, Gary, live in Sarasota, Florida.
